JOB SUMMARY: This is an OPS - Computer Systems Analyst (Distributed Computer Systems Analyst) in the Department of Revenue's Child Support Program Enterprise System Support Process - Tech Team. The incumbent will assist in the management of the Department of Revenue local area network users, groups, printers, computers and file systems. Analyze and coordinate resolution of hardware, software and network communication problems using diagnostic software and/or technical troubleshooting processes. Assist in planning and design of office network layouts producing wiring plans which detail placement of equipment and cabling details. Evaluate the effectiveness of hardware, software and communication performance and research and recommend needed improvements. Share discoveries and skills with fellow team members and develop training for customers when necessary. Install and maintain an inventory of computers and electronic equipment. Conduct surplus and recycling actions in accordance with current policy and procedures.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Training or experience in the following areas: Planning, designing, and/or coordinating a distributed processing system with statewide or wide area networking; OR, Interfacing with the agency s distributed systems support group and/or end users to ensure the distributed processing plan is consistent with the agency's objectives; OR, Conducting research and development in distributed processing and information system technologies to support the planning and enhancement of the statewide distributed computer systems network including hardware, software, and communications resources; OR, Writing and/or maintaining up-to-date documentation for software applications including program listings and operational procedures; OR, Monitoring the hardware to ensure it is properly maintained.
  • Experience with hardware/software troubleshooting.
  • Experience with computer encryption software.
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting Microsoft Office Suites.
